Easterseals Maine delivers education, workforce development, health, and economic development programs that empower people across the state—including individuals with disabilities, military service members and families, veterans, people with mental health challenges, and others facing systemic barriersto achieve economic mobility and well-being.



Service that starts with getting to know you
Easterseals was founded in 1919 as one of the first organizations to aid people with disabilities.
More than 100 years later, the organization has expanded to 48 states in the United States, helping 1.5 million people each year with the support of caring donors, partners, and others who believe in helping people thrive. With time, our mission has expanded to include more populations experiencing obstacles to living a healthy life including older adults, veterans, and families. Easterseals continues to support people with unwavering compassion and care.

Our executive leadership brings deep expertise in governance, as well as in disability and veteran services, informed by extensive life experience and a shared commitment to transforming communities across Maine.


Edward j. Bolognini
Edward J. Bolognini is an executive with more than three decades of experience in enterprise growth, organizational turnaround solutions, and crisis management. His expertise spans governance and executive leadership, with a focus on strengthening mission-driven organizations that expand access to economic opportunity.
Before joining The Fedcap Group, Ed served as President and CEO of Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland, and as Chairman and CEO of St. Luke Centre in Manchester, England..
Throughout his work with The Fedcap Group, Ed has led ReServe and Wildcat, and now serves as Executive Director of Easterseals Maine. His work at Easterseal’s is centered on providing the career guidance and practical support needed to help build a brighter future for Maine veterans.
Guided by the belief that success is possible when people are given the right opportunities, Ed continues to shape his work on serving communities facing barriers to access and opportunity.
An accomplished scholar, Ed has earned several graduate degrees, including a Master’s Degree in Finance from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University.
He is fluent in Italian, French, and Spanish and is a past member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.


Brian Cummings
Brian J. Cummings is the Director of Military and Veteran Services for Veterans Forward, a program of Easterseals Maine, whose career in veteran support began after retiring from a thirty-two-year career in the United States Air Force in 2019. Over the years, Brian has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive access to essential services, empowering veterans to achieve their life goals successfully. His passion lies in advocating for employment opportunities as avital means to combat homelessness and ensure long-term housing stability for veterans.
Throughout his extensive career, Brian has held various roles in the United States military and non-profit leadership. His clinical expertise encompasses vocational evaluation, job development and retention, and supported employment services for veterans. In leadership positions, Brian has designed and implemented multiple programs, focusing on homelessness, combatting food insecurity, and fostering community partnerships.

Easterseals Maine is proud to be an affiliate of Fedcap which serves over 330,000 people each year across an international footprint, supporting disadvantaged communities in achieving long-term economic mobility.
